While you may not realize it at the time, they're nothing more than steps forward.

For many thousands of years man has waited for his chance.  When personal safety wasn't a worry - peace would prevail.

When there was equal opportunity for all, even if you weren't close to the king.

When there was rule of law so nobody could violate your personal rights that were finally recognized.

When there were property rights, so your possessions and earnings could not be taken from you.

And when we could stand on the backs of giants with an abundance of resources, communication and transportation.

That time has come.

Your chance is now.

Do you really want to argue that you can't do anything about your situation?  Do you really want to make the case that someone else has control over you or is holding you down?

Do you really want to win that argument?

Why make it then?

There is no "Man" holding us down.  No "System" stacked against us.  If you think there is, you behave as if there is and sell yourself short.  If you want to make excuses, there will always be ones you can talk yourself into believing.

You have the power to rise up above your current condition, whatever that may be, if you WANT it bad enough to do what it takes.

It's all you.

"Once I _____, then I'll be happy."  Then you get it, and you're still not happy.  "Well, once I ____, then I'll really be happy."

There's little you can do to make yourself happy for long. 

Remove from your mind and life what makes you unhappy instead.  What's left will make you happy.

What makes you unhappy?

What do you need to do before you die?  You didn't do it last year.

Will you let another year go by?

Ok then.  When will you do it?

How about now?

Corporate bailouts, government bailouts, bank bailouts and even personal bailouts for anyone in the form of bankruptcies encourage irresponsible behavior and recklessness.  All bailouts do is redistribute the debtor's obligations to all of us.

When we take full responsibility for our actions and the long-term consequences of them, we will make better decisions today. 

If all of us and the leaders of every organization, private and public, did the same then the world would be a better place.
